Description

Grilled asparagus is one of the easiest and most delicious vegetables to grill! The smoky flavor of the grill combined with the parmesan and lemon makes for the most perfectly flavored, and healthy, summer side dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 bunch asparagus
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt (or more to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper (or more to taste)
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • ¼ cup parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Soak the asparagus for at least 15 minutes.
  2. Drain asparagus.
  3. Coat asparagus evenly with olive oil, salt and pepper.
  4. Grill over medium heat for 4 – 6 minutes, turning once halfway through.
  5. Place asparagus on a plate and squeeze 1/2 lemon over the top..
  6. Top with parmesan cheese.
  7. Enjoy!

Notes

  • When cutting the bottoms off the asparagus, you want to cut all the area off that isn’t nice and green. If you don’t get that white-ish area off the asparagus will be tough and stringy. I always cut them about ½” above where the white turns to green.
  • Soak the asparagus in water for at least 30 minutes before grilling.
  • When asparagus is finished, it will still be bright green, slightly crispy and still firm. When you pick it up by the end with tongs, it shouldn’t fall over limp.
